Xena is confronted by an older warrior who claims to be her estranged father Atrius. At first she doesn't want to believe him, but eventually she comes to trust him, despite evidence to the contrary. She is shocked when she discovers that "Atrius" is really Ares masquerading as her father to goad her into returning to her evil warlord ways.
